Upcoming Group Trips
EscapingNY group tours are not your typical group tour. They are fast-paced, action packed trips, geared at curious travelers that enjoy non-traditional, off-the-beaten-path travel experiences. They are perfect for travelers who avoid run-of-the-mill big bus tours and who like to see and do a bit of everything. Essentially, they’re group tours for people who don’t do group tours that were featured in the New York Times.
Our small group tours will connect you with the world through unforgettable people and life-changing experiences that go beyond the guidebook.

Mexico: Day of the Dead Parades & Preparation - October 2022
Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday dating back several thousand years to Aztec times in which families remember and honor those who have passed away. Far from a day of mourning, Day of the Dead is a festive holiday celebrating the lives of deceased loved ones. This eventful trip takes place the week before Day of the Dead, when Mexico City is packed with parades and preparing for the celebration. Join families inside their homes as they prepare for the festival, participate in cooking time-honored recipes that will be placed on ofrenda altars, and help build a traditional Day of the Dead alter. This unique tour will attend the world-famous Day of the Dead parade, visit food and flower markets to learn about the products used to prepare for Day of the Dead, explore pre-Aztec runis and the world’s third largest pyramid; and tour Mexico City by bicycle.
Mexico: Day of the Dead Festival & Folklore -October, 2022
This Dia de los Muertos trip differs from the “Parades and Preparations” trip because instead of arriving a week before Day of the Dead to attend the parade and pre-festival events, the trip takes place during the actual celebration. This eventful trip is jam packed with Day of the Dead activities like altar building, visiting ofrendas around the city, and visiting a small town known for its elaborate Day of the Dead festivities. Tour the festively decorated cemeteries and join families in their homes as they explain the significance of alters they built for deceased loved ones. This trip will include bike rides through diverse and interesting neighborhoods; street food and taco tours; visits to food and flower markets; trips to pre-Aztec runis and the world’s third largest pyramid; and much more.
